Siddhartha had compassion in his mind since childhood. He did not see the suffering of any creature. This is also clear from these examples. In horse racing, when the horses started running and foam started coming out of their mouth, Siddhartha would stop them there knowing they were tired and lost the winning bet. Even in the game, Siddharth himself liked to lose because it was not seen from him to beat someone and make someone sad.
Once upon a time, Siddhartha found a swan injured by an arrow in the forest by a hunter. They picked him up, took out arrows, caressed him and made him drink water. At the same time Siddharth's cousin Devdutt came there and said that this victim is mine, give it to me. Siddharth refused to give a goose and said that- you were killing this goose. I have saved it. Now tell me that the one who kills should be entitled to it or the one who saves it?
Devadatta complained about this to Siddhartha's father, King Shuddhodana. Shuddhodana said to Siddharth that why don't you give this swan to Devadatta? After all, it was he who shot the arrow?
On this Siddharth said – Father! Tell me, what right did he have to shoot arrows at this innocent swan flying in the sky? What wrong did the swan do to Devdutt? Then why did he shoot the arrow? Why did it hurt? I have not seen the suffering of this creature. So I took out the arrow and served it. Save his life. It is my right to have it.
King Shuddhodana liked Siddhartha's words. He said that you are right. The one who saves is greater than the one who kills. You have the right on this.
Born in the Shakya dynasty, Siddhartha was married at the age of 16 to Dandapani Shakya's daughter Yashodhara. Both also had a son whose name was Rahul.King Shuddhodana made a lot of arrangements for pleasure and luxury for Siddhartha. Three beautiful palaces were built for three seasons( summer, winter and autumn ). There all the material for dancing and singing and entertainment was gathered. Servants and maidservants were kept in his service. But all these things could not keep Siddhartha tied to the world.
At the age of 21, his eyes fell on four scenes in the streets of his kingdom Kapilavastu.
1. Siddharta saw an old man on the street. His teeth were broken, his hair was cooked, his body was crooked. He was walking on the road, trembling slowly, holding a stick in his hand.
2. When Siddharta went out for a walk in the garden for the second time, a patient came before his eyes. He was breathing fast. Shoulders were loose. The arms were dry. The stomach was swollen. The face had turned pale. With the help of the other, he was able to walk with great difficulty.
3. For the third time Siddhartha got a meaning. Four men were carrying him away. There were many people behind. Some were crying, some were beating their chests, some were pulling their hair. These scenes greatly disturbed Siddhartha. He thought that 'Damn the youth, which absorbs life. Shame on health, which destroys the body. Shame on life, which completes its chapter so soon. Will old age, disease and death continue to be benign like this forever?

4. The fourth time Kumar went out for a walk in the garden, he saw a sanyasi. A happy sannyasin, free from all the world's feelings and desires, attracted Siddhartha.
Distressed by this, he renounced his wealthy life, his wife and son and the kingdom and adopted the life of a monk and set out in search of questions related to birth, old age, pain, illness, and death.
The place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment (gyan) was called Bodh Gaya. Mahatma Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath and founded Buddhism. Lord Buddha preached the Four Noble Truths. He attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya on the day of Vaishakh Purnima, since then this day is known as Buddha Purnima.
